When you fully host with RentMy then there is no need to keep your existing web hosting plan. This transition often results in a savings. Follow these steps to point your domain to RentMy Hosting. These instructions apply regardless of where your domain is registered.
Step 1: Export or Backup Your Existing DNS Records
All DNS records on your existing name servers will be replaced or replicated on the RentMy Hosting DNS.
Make sure you have a text file or screen shot that shows each of the existing DNS records.
Step 2: Update Your Domain’s Name Servers
To delegate DNS management to RentMy Hosting, update your domain’s name servers to the following:
Name ServerNS1.RENTMYHOSTING.COMNS2.RENTMYHOSTING.COM
Important: This update must be completed at your domain registrar (the service where you purchased your domain). Once updated, RentMy will manage all DNS records for your domain.
Note: Name server changes can take up to 48 hours to fully propagate across the internet.
📩 Step 3: Notify RentMy
After your name servers have been updated:
- Email [email protected]****
- Include your full domain name (e.g., yourdomain.com)
- Share the DNS records saved during Step 1
⏳ Final Notes
- DNS and name server changes may take 15–30 minutes to propagate, though in some cases it may take up to 48 hours.
- During propagation, your domain may temporarily resolve to your old host or display inconsistent behavior.
